what is this?
Miami Modular & Synthesizer Society is a small team of likeminded synth nerds who wanted to provide an open and welcoming environment for the synth nerds of south florida to congregate, collaborate and create. We welcome all experience levels. Genre agnostic and solely interested in bringing thoughtful and imaginative people together to talk about their passions, perform, trade and make a friend or two.
are we strictly modular?
No, all hardware is welcomed. We aim to keep our event purely hardware, because showing off a laptop is lame. Joking, but we do love tangible experience.
That being said, feel free to indulge in hybrid set ups or include software in a cool way.
jams vs performance
The group jams are a semi-formal way, with group participants randomly decided on the day of, for participants of the meet to step out of their comfort zone and jam with a new friend, an old collaborator, or someone you just met at the event. 10 minutes on the spot, improvised, and on the fly. It might suck, but who cares!? It’s just a jam.
Our goal is to encourage some new sparks of inspiration and new friendships.
Performances though, are pre-curated. Bring your A-game and show off what you’ve got. Get in touch on Discord to request a slot.
we like money
We do not pay for event space, Churchill’s is cool like that. But that doesn’t mean extra cables, mixers, promo materials, web hosting, and what not doesn’t cost time and money. Any support you can throw our way is greatly appreciated. Check out the Shotgun link for some options.
